Lethal traps - Advantages of lethal trapping

1. when it works right, lethal traps are one of the fastest and most humane killing methods
    
2. same piece of equipment can be used to capture and kill animal, so there's less handling involved
    
3. equipment is easy to get and reasonably priced
    
4. it's easy to transport equipment
    
5. equipment is lightweight and compact, especially when compared to cage traps

Disadvantages of lethal trapping

1. can capture and kill nontarget animals
    
2. can hurt people
    
3. may require additional tools to set the trap
    
4. misfire could result in injury to animal
    
5. site often needs preparation, so it may take longer to set trap
