{"id":920,"date":"2020-06-10T23:41:50","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T23:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nwco.net\/?page_id=920"},"modified":"2020-07-22T17:01:05","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T17:01:05","slug":"arkansas","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nwco.net\/?page_id=920","title":{"rendered":"Arkansas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Regulatory Agency<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arkansas Game and Fish Commission<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Headquarters: (501)-223-6300<\/li><li>Regional Offices:<ul><li>Northwest Office: (479)-253-2506 <\/li><li>East Central Office: (870)-734-4581 <\/li><li>North Central Office: (870)-297-4331 <\/li><li>South Central Office: (870)-836-4612\u00a0 <\/li><li>Fort Smith Office \u2013 Fort Chaffee: (479)-478-1043 <\/li><li>Southwest Office: (870)-777-5580 <\/li><li>Hotsprings Office: (501)-525-8606 <\/li><li>Northeast Office: ((870)-972-5438 <\/li><li>Southeast Office: (870)-367-3553 <\/li><li>West Central Office: (479)-967-7577 <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>License Details<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Depredation Permits may be obtained from Commission Wildlife Officers or Wildlife Biologists<\/li><li>Contact the regional office<\/li><li>Give all necessary information to the commission<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laws and Regulations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is unlawful to take or attempt to take any game or furbearing animal damaging crops or personal property without obtaining a Depredation Permit and complying with the terms and provisions of the permit<\/li><li>Rodenticides may be used to control mice and rats, but poisons or chemicals may not be used to kill any other animal<\/li><li>English sparrows, blackbirds, starlings and crows committing damage to agriculture crops and personal property may be taken without a permit.<\/li><li>A Depredation Permit is required to trap nuisance game animals other than beaver, coyote, muskrat, nutria, opossum, raccoon, squirrel, and striped skunk outside of the trapping season. <\/li><li>Firearms may be used at day or night if specifically approved by the Commission employee issuing the Depredation Permit<\/li><li>A Depredation Permit is required to shoot any nuisance wildlife at night<\/li><li> Bats that have bitten or otherwise potentially exposed a human, pet or livestock to rabies may be killed provided that they are submitted to the Arkansas Department of Health for rabies testing.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laws Regarding Translocation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wildlife may not be released into the wild without prior AGFC approval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If caught in a live trap, wildlife must be released unharmed outside the municipality\u2019s boundaries within 24 hours <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trap Tags<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traps must have a tag affixed to them with the name and address of the owner, driver&#8217;s license number, and the AGFC customer identification number or current vehicle license number (registered to the trap user). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hunting and Trapping License<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If hunting nuisance wildlife during an open season for that species, a hunting license is required<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A trapping license is not required to obtain a Depredation Permit.
