{"id":980,"date":"2020-07-21T17:39:40","date_gmt":"2020-07-21T17:39:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nwco.net\/?page_id=980"},"modified":"2020-07-21T21:39:14","modified_gmt":"2020-07-21T21:39:14","slug":"ohio","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nwco.net\/?page_id=980","title":{"rendered":"Ohio"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Regulatory Agency<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ohio Department of Natural Resources<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Department of Natural Resources: (614)-265-6565<\/li><li>Division of Wildlife: (800)-945-3543<\/li><li>Permit Coordinator: wildlife.permits@dnr.state.oh.us<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>License Details<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The license costs $40 a year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>License Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The license is valid for one year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Create an account on the Department of Natural Resources<\/li><li>Take the exam<\/li><li>In order to pass, a grade of 80% or higher is required<\/li><li>Submit an <a href=\"https:\/\/nwco.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Ohio-Application.pdf\">application<\/a> once a score of 80% or higher is achieved<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Renewal and Reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The license must be renewed annually by the last day of February<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laws and Regulations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Written permission is required before engaging in removal or exclusion activities.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/li><li> Must carry proof of certification and exhibit it when asked by any wildlife officer or person with similar authority.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/li><li>An appropriate license is required to use a toxins or chemical substance to control nuisance wildlife&nbsp; <\/li><li>Deer damage and goose damage permits are another application <\/li><li>In order to do bat exclusion a separate permit is required&nbsp; <\/li><li> It shall be unlawful to sell hides of furbearing animals taken under the authority of a commercial nuisance wild animal control&nbsp;operators&nbsp;license, except those acquired during the open season as specified under rule&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/codes.ohio.gov\/oac\/1501:31-15-17\" target=\"_blank\">1501:31-15-17<\/a>&nbsp;of the Administrative Code may be held and sold from&nbsp;from&nbsp;the first day of the respective open season through June fifteenth of the following year.&nbsp; <\/li><li>It shall be unlawful to fail to euthanize nuisance wild animals trapped or taken whose injuries affect normal biological or physiological functions&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laws Regarding Translocation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Raccoons, skunks, beaver, coyotes, foxes, and opossums must be\u00a0released on site or euthanized. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nIf the animal is to be released, it must be outside the limits of any incorporated city or&nbsp;city.
